The Story Behind The Rebrand

OK so here's the deal
Sometimes rebrands are necessary. I mean, just look at what the dolphin meme did for Zara Larsson or what the colour green did for Charli XCX.
During the inception of my little business, I was only selling Spotify plaques and illustrations. I'm a serial hobbyist at heart, so naturally I started selling the products of whatever hobby I was obsessed with at the time. During the pandemic, I discovered crochet, so I added crochet items to the shop. Not too long after that, I added clay items to the shop. And of course I am now in my candle-making era.
I have so many ideas running through my brain. I want this shop to have a variety of different gifting options. I even thought of dabbling in the events space eventually. I would really love to design and make wedding favours one day. I decided on the name 'Aqeelah's Collective' because it's broad, so it allows me to add whatever I want to the shop in the future. 'Art by Aqeelah' started everything, but I feel like the name doesn't serve my business anymore. We love and cherish her, but it's time to move on.
The need for change and growth was probably also attributed to the huge shift in my personal life. If you didn't know, I recently got married, and that meant that I would have to move out of my childhood room (from which I was operating). Now that I'm in a new space, it just feels like it's time for something new, yk?
So what does this mean for the future?
Expect new products. I have a few new products that I am currently working on, so those will be released soon. I also want to look into making customised packaging. Think premium, personalised boxes.
